First Post

Day Three of trying to clean this never-been-touch-with-kind-hands kitchen leads to an even larger pile of haven't-seen-in-years appliances, dishes, and food products. I can see it's clearer life on the horizon! Unfortunately, as the clutter in the kitchen lessens, the clutter in the recipe folder of my computer increases.

This summer, I have dedicated myself to cleaning the house, cooking and trying to get in shape. This five person household is on its toes at all times with two kids under 10 (staying home all summer), me, the two cats, the two dogs, and our parents. It seems like everyday I have to go back and clean up after everyone. Then it's almost impossible for me to get dinner ready at the same time. I don't know how people do this successfully, but I'm going to try to find out in the next two and a half months!

In the meantime, I'm going to work on my third goal: getting in shape. I'm doing pretty well with that one! I started with 1.5 miles in the neighborhood at the beginning of the summer (I gave myself a head start before summer break), and with the help of my new running buddy, I ran 3 miles today! I found running to be a good break from this housekeeping thing I seem to be so bad at! Cleaning is repetitive and frustrating! Maybe by the end of summer break I'll have a good system so I wont lose any progress when school or work picks up.

Project: Make a Living Succulent Picture
Not sure when I'll get around to this one, but I'm super excited!
